BP International Hotel Hong Kong

At around HKD760 or USD98 for a night, the BP International Hong Kong Hotel (located in the heart of Kowloon Peninsula) offers good value for money. Firstly, this 3-star hotel offers good location – situated on Nathan Road a block away from Jordan MTR station. Secondly, there is the free shuttle bus from the airport which saves you a packet on Train fare or Taxi fare from the airport. Thirdly, there are lots of restaurants offering cheap eats nearby which is additional bonus for staying in this hotel. If you add up all these plus points to your savings, BP International hotel is good for short-stay budget travelers.

What I like about BP International Hong Kong Hotel

The rooms were clean and airy and the air-conditioning works all the time. The usual freebies like TV, Wi-Fi and other amenities. Of course, only one person at a time can use the Wi-Fi to connect and there is a charge for extended browsing. So, if you are on a business trip and would like to continue your work from the hotel, you need to be aware of this fact.

The staff is communicative and friendly and the front desk staffs speak English which is good for travelers from the English speaking countries. The breakfast is just about enough and if you are expecting a varied spread, you are likely to be disappointed. I did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel since there were eateries nearby which served the purpose quite well. This does not detract from the fact that the hotel has 2 restaurants which I believe are competitive in their pricing.

What I dislike about BP International Hong Kong Hotel

The checkout cannot be extended and upon request, they agreed for an hour extension at the maximum. This limits the options of those who need to leave at odd hours or have a flight to catch during non-peak hours. The checkout takes time as the hotel being a tourist favorite tends to have a long line in front of the checkout counter. It took me 15 minutes of waiting time to get to the front desk for checking out.

The beds are a little short and the rooms are enough for 2 people. So, if you are planning to take your family along, be prepared to book an additional room or look for other options.

How to Get to BP International Hong Kong Hotel

The hotel offers free bus service from the airport which should surely rank it as one of the few hotels in Kowloon to have such a service. And with the Jordan MTR station a block away, getting in and around Hong Kong is a lot easier. The location of the hotel in the midst of the night market and 2 stops from the ferry/harbor area makes it easy for those who are adventurous and like to take the ferry to get to the hotel.
