The Centara Grand at Central World Hotel is a place for those who want to explore the city and who expect their days to be hectic. Since the hotel has a range of options (SPA Cenvaree, Swimming pool, Sanuna) to relax and unwind, the Centara Grand Bangkok is indeed the hotel of choice for business travelers and executives.
However, this is not to say that tourists should not prefer this hotel since the location of the Centara Grand Bangkok Hotel near the shopping district and the fashion center makes it convenient for those on shopping binges. The hotel rate is pricier (USD 124 a night) than the average for its class justified its class (5 Star) with all the amenities and the comforts provided accordingly.
What I like about Centara Grand Bangkok
The rooms are quite good and comfortable to stay and the luxurious bathroom makes you want for more. There is a DVD player in the room and you can get multichannel cable (you need to pay extra for some channels) which might appeal to those who would not want to miss their favorite shows in their travels.
The staff is courteous and professional and the service is good. You can ask for Wi-Fi access and it is priced not too high compared with other hotels. You can find a mix of guests of different nationalities with whom you can strike up conversations in Red Sky – a Wine & Martini Bar. By the way, Red Sky is located at the 55th floor offering a good view of the shopping district and is a sight to see in the night.
What I dislike about Centara Grand Bangkok
The escalators that link the hotel which is above the central world shopping center close by 11.30 PM due to the presence of a Cineplex. That means you might have to take the lift from the ground lobby of the hotel to go to your room after 11.30pm. The place gets noisy during the evening because of the Central World Plaza and the people thronging the Cineplex. It is better to take a room which is on the higher floors and the higher the better.
How to get to Centara Grand Bangkok
The best part of the Centara Grand at Central World Hotel is its location near Chidlom BTS Skytrain Station (which is around 5 minutes by walk). So, you can save on expensive taxi fares. The chances of getting lost are minimal as well. Likewise, going around the city is a breeze thanks to the location. The Centara Grand Bangkok Hotel is good for shoppers because of the Central World Plaza in the hotel and very clsoe to Mah Boon Krong (MBK) shopping centre and Siam Paragon.
