Hatten Hotel Melaka
The Hatten Hotel Melaka is a classy new hotel conveniently located at the heart of Melaka town, with a number of shopping malls in the vicinity. Some of the megamalls nearby are the Dataran Pahlawan and the Mahkota Parade. If you’re looking for some retail therapy, this might just be the right place for you.
The hotel is also located in the cultural district of town, thus it is also suitable for those looking to indulge in some culture. Some of the historical places of interest, like the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum and St Paul’s church, just to name a few, are all located within 1 km of the hotel. Jonker street, one of the highlights in any trip to Malacca, is just a 15 minutes walk away. In case of emergencies, there is also a hospital nearby.
What I like about Hatten Hotel Melaka
Considering the central location and clean, spacious rooms, the price is definitely worth it. The hotel is linked with the surrounding shopping malls via shelters, so rainy days will not dampen the shopping mood in you. There are 2 LCD TVs in each room, so hotel guests, especially children, can watch their own channels without any conflicts.
The beds and pillows are big and comfortable, giving one a good night’s sleep. It is highly recommended to get a room on a higher level facing the bay for a fantastic sea view. The counter staffs were very friendly, and their service was great. Parking lots are aplenty and complimentary parking tickets can be redeemed from the hotel counter. For those who want to stick to their workout regimes while on vacation, the hotel has an in-house gym that is very decent.
What I dislike about Hatten Hotel Melaka
The wifi is only available at public spaces such as the lobby, though LAN ports are available at the room desks. The check-in process can be improved as many travellers have complained about waiting for quite a while before their rooms are ready. In-house restaurant of the hotel is not recommended, as the price does not justify the quality of food they serve, though the complimentary breakfast is quite a feast. Their swimming pools are a little small, and there weren’t any deck chairs.
