The Johor Premium Outlets is the hottest factory outlet shopping spot in Johor for many Singaporeans and Malaysians. Many shoppers are keen to find out what are the brands Johor Premium Outlets carry and whether these shops really offer good discounts (note: good discount defines at least 50% off the retail prices).
So, I decided to take a bus to Johor Premium Outlets to check it out myself.
Johor Premium Outlet Brands
Johor Premium Factory Outlets houses 80 over popular brands and more stores like Brooks Brothers, Braun Buffel, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Versace will be opening in 2012.
Luxury Fashion Brands
Currently showcased in Johor Premium Outlets are Armani, Armani Exchange, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo & Zenga. Many are giving discounts of up to 60% off global brands for women. I was particularly tempted by Armani Exchange where it offers 60% off storewide for all its jeans, T-shirts, dresses & accessories like caps & belts. So, I bought a cap from Armani Exchange at MYR72 (original price was MYR200). At DKNY, most outfits are also going at 50% off the retail prices. Shop the latest
Sportwear
Causal sportswear like Nike, Adidas, Esprit, CK Calvin Klevin, Gap, Guess, Lacoste, Levi’s, Puma & Timberland are all housed in Johor Premium Outlets. I bought a yoga pant at Nike store for half the original price. Though after conversion, it still costs about SGD60+ which is not very cheap.
Travelling Luggage Bags
If you are looking for a travelling luggage, popular and durable brands like Samsonite, Tumi and Universal Travellers can be found there. In fact, Samsonite offers 50% discount on its black label series is quite an attractive deal.
Branded Bags
For branded leather bags like Bonia, Coach, Fossil, Michael Kors & Oroton, you need to cater enough time to check all of them out. I saw two women returning home with 5 big bags of Fossil products. I regretted not checking out all the bag stores as I’m sure I must have missed out some goodies.
Shoes, Sneakers, Sandals & Boots
There are a wide selection of shoe stores from affordable brands like Charles & Keith, Skechers & Vincci to mid range like Clarks, Geox & Pedro. Shoes selling at Pedro start as low as MYR49 while Geox’s shoes are also going at crazy discounts from MYR799.90 to MYR259. Most of the women sizes are available from 35 to 41.
Johor Premium Outlet Burberry Bags
Burberry is a very sought-after brand among the shoppers, particularly the Burberry trench coat, Burberry bag and its wallet. According to the staff, the discount for Burberry products range from 30% to 60%.
An original price of a Burberry wallet with stars was MYR1450, after 40% discount, it only costs MYR870 (SGD360). A Burberry bag with studs was selling at MYR1797 (SGD740), a hefty 50% discount from its original price of MYR3595.
Johor Premium Outlet Restaurants
Quite disappointing, there are only 3 restaurants opening in JPO – Kampachi Japanese Restaurant, Absolute Thai and Taang Shifu. I chose Kampachi as I love Japanese food and it didn’t disappoint me. The sashimi is fresh, the price is reasonable and the staff service is good. Its Ikura Chanwamushi is a must-try if you love Ikura (salmon roe).
For coffee lovers or guys who need a break while the girlfriends continue shopping, there are cosy cafes like George & Dragon Cafe, Starbucks Coffee and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf around. For ladies who love dessert, Baskin-Robbins and Crispy Crepe can be found at 2nd floor.
