Roppongi (六本木) has made a name as the most happening Tokyo nightlife’s hotspot for tourists where a large number of the bars and clubs remain open until 5am. Adding to this image is Roppongi Hills, a large entertainment complex that put a huge number of cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs in the area,many of which are rather upmarket or cater towards exclusive clientèle.

However, you can still have a great night out in Roppongi without breaking the bank. Fifty Seven is a restaurant and lounge that also has free live music some nights and Motown is a friendly place which doesn’t overcharge on drinks. The sheer number of clubs in Roppongi can make choosing where to go a difficult task, check Metropolis or Time Out for listings to help you decide.
One sure-fire winner is Muse, hugely popular amongst expatriates. It houses various bars and two dance floors. Entrance fee is 3000 yen for men which includes two free drinks and most do not mind paying as it is an excellent spot to pick up girls.
