Of all Tokyo’s nightlife hotspots, Shibuya (渋谷区) appeals mainly to the youth of Tokyo. Arriving at Shibuya’s main station and taking the Hachiko Exit, you’ll join the endless surge of people heading across the famous 5-way crossing in to downtown Shibuya.
Many choose to start their night in one of the countless izakayas (Japanese pub/restaurants). Thanks to the stiff competition, it is not difficult to find restaurants staff canvassing on the streets offering drinks and food to entice customers in. So just head to whichever has the best deal but keep an eye peeled for Watami or Uotami – two respected chains that are famous for serving cheap food.
The Womb Club in Tokyo
Bars in Shibuya geared towards all groups of people – expats, students and residents. The Pink Cow draws an arty crowd and Xanadu is particularly lively at the weekends. To finish the night off, head to ‘Womb‘, the most famous club in Shibuya which has the best lighting and sound system but at a fee – the entrance charge is steep at Y3500 with two drinks.
