After surviving my first day in Barcelona, my plan for the following day was to do some window shopping in Barcelona. You know things in Barcelona is not necessary cheap. I thought there was not really any “pressing need” to splurge.

As I was walking the street, I discovered the need to spend some real money and invest on pair of good walking shoes. The pair of mid-cut boots I was wearing for the hours of walking was hurting my ankle and causing much pain. So, now I have a pressing need for Barcelona shopping!

Here’s the start my shopping in Barcelona, Spain.

Camper Shoes Pelotas XLite by Danny Lee

Camper Shoes

I went straight into a Camper shoes outlet at La Rambla. After all, I have been eyeing a pair of Campers shoes in one of Singapore’s outlets but find it too pricey. Now that I can justify the purchase, after trying several designs, I settled for a pair of light weight, comfortable walking shoes – Camper Pelotas XLite for €105. After a 10% tax rebate, the damage is reduced to €95.

It is cheaper to buy Camper shoes in Barcelona! For the same pair of shoes in Singapore, it would have costed me more than SGD250.

Nespresso Capsules at Bargain Price

Putting on my new Camper shoes, I continue my Barcelona shopping journey. I found a few Nespresso boutiques here selling coffee machines at relatively cheap price. A Nespresso coffee machine costs €149 before 18% tax rebate and all Nespresso capsules are entitled to 10% tax rebate. Compare that to a Nespresso coffee machine in Singapore selling at SGD499 (about €284).

Zara Leather Jacket

As for clothing and jackets, I found Zara offers good quality jackets for €U49 to €69. The leather jacket material is thick and cutting is good. It not only keeps you warm, a studded leather jacket can make you look really trendy.

Loewe Handbag via

Loewe Bags

Of course, I have to check out Loewe outlet in Barcelona. However, I was disappointed that Loewe bags only offer 10-12% tax rebate and not 18%.

I wanted to buy a Loewe flamenco handbag for my wife, but after checking its hefty price tag of €1,400, maybe it is the thought that counts! Surprisingly, many tourists from mainland China are not bothered with the price at all. They simply swept the bags and wallets off the shelves!
