Loof Ho Chi Mint

Loof is a fun, quirky rooftop bar located atop Odeon Towers. What I love about Loof is that patrons can choose between air-conditioned seating (perfect for the muggy Singapore nights) and outdoor, al-fresco style seating (for the occasional breezy nights).

The bar opened in 2005 but recently went through a major revamp and is popular for its colourful landscaping and furniture. An interesting feature of the bar is its binoculars placed along the balcony, which offer splendid close-up views of Singapore’s bustling nightlife.

Mama Shop

Before you go, stop by the ‘Mama Shop’ (convenience store) which takes you back to old-school Singapore and sells things every Singaporean adult and teenager would recognise.

I love the drinks at Loof for their creativity – every bar might offer a Singapore Sling, but few offer a Ho Chi Mint, a refreshing mix of vodka and pear juice. But if you really want a taste of South-east Asia, try Penang Padi, a cocktail of lime juice, vodka and chilli padi, a fiery local chilli pepper.
